This week we went to another STEM day at a local elementary school to spread the FIRST spirit and promote the awesomeness of robots! At Turnagain Elementary School we helped to set up a classroom for our FRC team, a couple FTC teams, and the UAA robotics team. Students came and went all night as they explored the various STEM themed tables. We had a lot of fun showing the kids how to drive the robots and watching them be enthralled with the machines.
One of our favorite aspects of attending these elementary school STEM nights is getting to see the smiles on kids faces and helping answer their parents questions about FLL. Hopefully we are making an impact and more students will join robotics next year!
We’re powering up our team through rewarding outreach events such as these so we will be prepared for our adventure into deep space these next few months.
