This year, we have been testing both a standard 8 wheel drive train V.S a Mechanim drive train. While the standard option is more reliable, the Mechanim design can move in any direction on an horizontal plane. To answer the question of what we should choose, team members built a new electronics box and affixed it to an older, premade chassis. The tests were successful but time constraints have forced us to stay with a standard design. Luckily though, if time allows, we can switch out the wheels and move to a Mechanim design. There is still hope!
