Strategy
Strategy is an important part of the design process. Every game involves not only having a capable robot to perform the tasks, but knowledgeable drivers and members who can recognize which actions will maximize the number of points we can receive. This principle is at the root of the build season and is often the first thing we address when designing a robot. Often, we will find scoring in one section to be not worth enough points, or we can make assumptions, like if every team is going to build a shooting robot this year, we can find a niche by building a hanging robot. These are the types of observations made by the strategy team.
Most members who are part of the strategy are on the build team, however that is definitely not a requirement. We welcome everyone who has input into how we should focus our objectives to join in that discussion. Strategizing is something best learned through the build season, however, becoming familiar with the past season games can go a long way.
