After a successful season, we decided to have a celebration at Nikira’s house. Everyone brought food, we played games, and already got started talking about the future of the team. Three of our future teammates came, as well–it was great to see our new Nerdlet program successfully getting younger students interested and then joining the team.
We spent a lot of time brainstorming the next steps for the team. A big goal moving forward is looking for custom fabrication of robot parts. Lawton found a team which made a bot almost entirely from 3D printed pieces. The structure was still metal, but plastic components and plastic joints for the metal. Quite impressive. Dale, a mentor from the Maker Space, has offered feedback on 3d printer purchases or workshops during our off-season. We have high hopes for the team, but also a well thought out plan of how to get there.
